Watch Outputmessage & City Rain "I Remember"

I never really knew that Washington DC is such a hot bed for emerging electronic music until I heard "I Remember" by Outputmessage and City Rain. It is gorgeous slice of electro-pop that is a collaboration between Washington D.C. vocalist Bernard Farley aka Outputmessage and DJ/producer Ben Runyan aka City Rain.

The song marks an interesting new direction for Outputmessage who previously crafted more obscure, ambient electro music. "I Remember" ushers in a poppier vibe that is featured on his new LP, "Autonomous" that is available now. Also, listen to songs like "Get Away" and "Resurface" that will please fans of Frankmusik and other subtle, sweet-tinged electro pop.

Outputmessage will be performing at my Superfraiche Pop Night on Friday at Webster Hall in New York City. Get your tickets now.

Announcing Presents Superfraiche Pop Night at Webster Hall

Exciting news! After the sold out out show at Spaceland in Los Angeles during GRAMMY Week, my Superfraiche Pop Night will return to New York City on March 26. Featured performers are Reni Lane, Beautiful Small Machines and Outputmessage.

It will be an exciting night of sweet and crunchy pop, running the gamut between hooky pop rock to sleek synth-pop.The night will also celebrate the release of Reni Lane's debut CD "Ready" (out on Custard/Universal Motown next week).

Superfraiche will held at The Studio at Webster Hall on March 26. Show starts at 8:30 pm. Get your tickets right here. Below more information about each of the artists that will perform:

Reni Lane – Signed by super producer Linda Perry to her Custard/Universal Motown label, this spunky and super fun singer is stirring up crowds with her debut single “Place For Us,” an infectious slice of alt pop rock. VH1 selected the track as the theme of their saucy new hit series Secrets of Aspen. Her major label debut “Ready” drops March 16. (web site)

Beautiful Small Machines – Recently teaming with Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, Beautiful Small Machines may be synthetic, but they’re not stupid. Caught somewhere between the '70s, '80s and deep space, this electro-pop duo (Bree Sharp, Don DiLego) learned about comedy from adult swim and heartache from Philip K. Dick and they’re spewing it all back out at you like a bunch of mandroids on whiskey and psycho-pharmaceuticals. Fun, Sad, Creepy and Clever – Beautiful Small Machines is the retro-future.(web site)

Outputmessage – Outputmessage (aka vocalist Bernard Farley) is spearheading Washington DC’s exciting new electro-pop movement. He recently released his new album, “Autonomous,” on which Farley turns bittersweet reflections into catchy and uplifting pop songs, much like the melancholic sentiments expressed in a Pet Shop Boys or a New Order song. Superfraiche Pop Night L.A. Rocked GRAMMY Town

Last week's Superfraiche Pop Night at Spaceland in Los Angeles was an incredible success. With all of the GRAMMY parties going on around town, Superfraiche sold out and Spaceland was filled to capacity with a line stretching around the corner. Sweet and crunchy pop reigned!

It was exciting to see that so many readers came out to see the show, plus all kinds of industry folks, Hollywood insiders, other bloggers and music writers attended as well to see what all the buzz was all about..Even super producer Linda Perry dropped by to check out new talent. Incredible.

Piano balladeer Scott Simons kicked off the night with an extended set of his heartfelt balladry, treating the audience with some good 'ole faves like "Start Of Something" and "Sorry In Advance." L.A. electro hipsters Love Grenades turned up the heat up with Liz Wright's irresistible, sultry delivery that is a perfect fit for the group's catchy electro-pop.

Becoming a staple on KCRW with "Place For Us," people were curious to see Reni Lane who turned into a flaming, sexy rock kitten who punched some crunch into the pop night and had the crowd hungry for more.

Superfraiche marked V V Brown's official Los Angeles debut show, and boy, was it worth the wait. The promising British newcomer blew the lit of the bottle with her high-powered soul-pop-rock blend that swept the crowd off their feet. With songs like "Leave," "Game Over," "Shark In The Water" and other tracks from her debut "Travelling Like The Light," she had her new fans screaming for more, more, more, which led to a stomping encore. Everyone I spoke to agreed - A star is born. V V is a talent who soon will be owning the top of the charts. No doubt.

Check out photos from Superfraiche in L.A. here. (Thanks Billy)

It was a night to remember and I was so happy that Los Angeles fully embraced my Superfraiche Pop Night. I want to give a big, gigantic and enormous shout out to all of the readers that came out to see what I had put together. Your support means the world to me! Also, I want to give all of the artists that performed a big hug. Thanks for coming out to play. Thanks also to Mitch, Scott, Damara, Molly and all the fine folks at Spaceland for making the night run so smoothly. Thanks also to my new friends at Capitol/EMI and Custard Records for helping to spread the word. A special thanks to Dr. Rosen Rosen for putting together a sweet & crunchy DJ mix to get the crowd entertained in between sets. Thanks Los Angeles. See you soon!
