Listen to New Scissor Sisters "Invisible Light"

They are back! Listen to Scissor Sisters' "Invisible Light," a track from their forthcoming third album "Night Work" (bootylicious new album art below). Just a few quick thoughts after first listen. Has a very nocturnal, Studio 54 feel to it. Inhibited exuberance before it unleashes. Stylish and chic production by Stuart Price. Most definitely inspired by the sounds of late 70's disco with talk (by Sir Ian McKellen) about lasers and Babylon. Great track to remix. Listen to it here. Share YOUR thoughts here.

Photos: Scissor Sisters at Bowery Ballroom

Scissor Sisters returned gloriously to the stage yesterday at Bowery Ballroom in New York last night to play some much-anticipated, fresh new tunes and some of their previous hits. Comedian Sandra Bernard joined the group on stage to sing "Tits On The Radio." Fun! Photographer Kevin Tachman was there and caught all the goodness on camera. Click here to see his photo report. Can't wait to see the band in Austin on Saturday.

Preview Scissor Sisters' Cover of Roxy Music's "Do The Strand" for War Child Compilation

While putting the final touches on their third album, Scissor Sisters took some time out of their busy schedule to record a cover of Roxy Music's "Do The Strand." The track is included on "Heroes," a compilation CD that will benefit War Child.

The concept behind the album is that some of the biggest names in music select their personal favorite song from their own song writing canon, and nominate an artist from the next generation to create a modern reworking of that classic song. Many acts that were keen to join the project have now completed and delivered their tracks, and the album has been mastered at the legendary Abbey Road studios in London

The full track of "Heroes" listing includes contributions from Duffy, Elbow, Hot Chip, Beck, Rufus Wainwright and The Kooks.

EMI has made a substantial upfront payment to War Child, and will release the album on its Parlophone label. Parlophone are donating all their profits to War Child’s work to protect the most marginalised children in war zones, who would otherwise be overlooked: street children, child soldiers and children in prison.

I commend Parlophone and all the artists for donating their time and music available for this album. Check out a very brief clip of Roxy Music's "Do The Strand" as covered by Scissor Sisters. It's good to hear Scissor Sisters go electro again. Reminds me of their early work up tune "Electrobix." Make sure to support this cause and pre-order your copy of "Heroes."
