After producing some finely-tuned remixes for artists like Far East Movement, Chipmunk and Talay Riley, British DJ and producer Kat Krazy now takes on Rye Rye's "Never Will Be Mine" featuring our beloved Robyn that is one of the biggest and most potent ballads of the moment.

Showing off genuine soundboard savvy, Kat Krazy has found a way to give the tender and delicate original an exciting new twist. He added a propulsive new groove and soaring sunburst synths to create a mighty, hands-in-the-air dancefloor filler that maintains the song's powerful emotive quality.

Kat Krazy's biggest accomplishment with this revamp is that the remix doesn't interfere with the original's beauty but just extends its reach into an exciting new direction. It's more proof that Robyn's creation has a timeless quality. (Download Rye Rye ft. Robyn "Never Will Be Mine" on iTunes | Rdio.)

Following the premiere of their "Never Will Be Mine" video last week, check out some candid behind-the-scenes footage of Robyn and Rye Rye taken on the set of the video shoot. It's fun (and even a little touching) to see how these two have really developed a friendship and bonded together with the help of Robyn's timeless tune.

After wrapping the shoot, Robyn warmly embraces Rye Rye and the two explain why they get along so well. "I love Robyn because she makes great music and she actually has a voice, an amazing voice," Rye Rye explains. "And it's her own style -- incorporating dance music that makes you emotional sometimes."

Robyn agrees, pulls Rye Rye a little closer and says. "She's feisty and she means what she says!" That's right, that's right. These two are keeping it real. Both connect to their fans in a very authentic way, which exactly explains why they hit it off together.

The footage also includes some commentary by director Tim Nakashi who describes the shoot as "one of the best days of my life." He says, "The video shows [Rye Rye and robyn] in a new way that we haven't seen before. A little bit more romantic and a little bit more emotional I think." Watch the exclusive footage after the break.

When New York fashion designer Prabal Gurung looked for a splashy way to debut his very first resort collection he turned to Baltimore MC Rye Rye and creative collective Sandymontana to produce a special film to introduce his new fashion offering.

Set to Rye Rye's punchy and self-affirming "New Thing," the colorful video features Rye Rue's popping dance moves that were choreographed by Jaqual Knight (Beyonce "Single Ladies"). Rye Rye sure is "setting the groove on fire" with "New Thing" that is taken from her forthcoming debut LP "Go! Pop! Bang!" Mighty fresh and super fly! What's not to love about Rye Rye? If there's one track that opens the door for Robyn to cross over into the mainstream and getting radio play in the U.S. then it's this remake of her evergreen tune "Be Mine" by Baltimore MC Rye Rye. It took me a moment to get used to this new version, but Rye Rye did a fine job giving the song a punchy new twist while staying true to the emotion that drove Robyn's original track. (Download the song on iTunes)

When I spent some time with Robyn last week, she was excited about this new version of "Be Mine." Robyn is a fan of M.I.A. protege Rye Rye, and she compared "Never Will Be Mine" to the classic vibe of LL Cool J's "I Need Love." Another slow hip hop jam with steady pop sensibilities that has withstood the test of time.

Check out the excellent video for the single that alternately features Robyn and Rye Rye in rotating shots that was filmed in downtown Los Angeles by director Tim Nakashi.

By combining a steady hip hop flavor with a massively talented new MC and Robyn's classic hook, this may just be that breakthrough track that radio stations may pick up on, which will help Robyn to have a mainstream hit that some of her fans have been hoping for. Watch the video after the break.

Single Review: Rye Rye feat. Robyn "Never Will Be Mine"

Ryeyerobyn

The teaming of Robyn and Rye Rye on a fresh new remake of Robyn's pop classic "Be Mine" is an unlikely pairing that took some time for me to get used to. You should know that "Be Mine" is one of my favorite pop ballads of all time and I cherish it every time it hits the iPod.

Robyn packs the song with an outpouring of emotion in a manner that only she can, delivering her lyrcis with a heartfelt gusto that is truly breathtaking. "Be Mine" is quite frankly one of those songs that people should handle with great care and not toy around with.

Rising Baltimore hip pop princess Rye Rye succeeds in adding her own punchy twist to the song that neatly matches Robyn's original intensity.

While Robyn is featured in the song's chorus, Rye Rye carefully delivers her poignant rhymes that perfectly blend with Robyn's story about love and loss with lines like, "If you're having problems with the one you love and you want to feel his touch, put your hands in the air and let him know that you truly care. You don't wanna do the fight fuss, getting sick of the love pain or the lies and the trust games (...) I love you dearly, did I make that clearly?"

Rye Rye's delivery packs an equally heartfelt message that make it a proper fit for Robyn's timeless original. "Never Will Be Mine" will be included on Rye Rye's forthcoming debut album "Go! Pop! Bang!" that will be released on June 14. (Download)
