Labrint is an up and coming U.K. songwriter and producer who is now striking out on his own as a solo act. His radio-ready, chart-friendly and totally feel-good debut single "Let The Sun Shine" was released last week and could easily be one of the break out hits of the fall. The song comes along with a very cool viral video that is getting a steady buzz on YouTube.
Up until now, Labrinth (aka Timothy McKenzie) was mostly known for collaboration with British superstar rapper Tinie Tempah on his songs "Pass Out" and "Frisky." But it was none other than Simon Cowell who encouraged Labrinth to not only work the soundboards but step into the spotlight as a solo artist as well.
The savvy talent man signed Labrinth to his SYCO imprint, which is distributed by Sony UK. Labrinth is currently working on his full album that you can expect later this year. And with Cowell in the driving seat you know that it is just a matter of time before Labrinth will get a major push stateside.
