Listening to Grum is a bit like listening to Mylo a few years ago. His electro-edged dance pop is filled with sweet surprises - combining synthastic melodies with crescendoing choruses and infectious dance grooves. Those ingredients should come as no surprise. Grum loves French disco, adores Trevor Horn and old-school movie scores, and is inspired by artists ranging from the Human League to Stuart Price.
Today, the British producer announced a brief U.S. tour to promote his excellent debut artist LP "Heartbeats" that was released on Ultra Records in May. Grum will hop over to Dallas (Jul 22), New York (Jul 23), Toronto (Jul 24), San Francisco (Jul 29) and Los Angeles (Jul 30).
To support his tour and growing momentum inside and outside the clubs, he will be releasing his new single "Through The Night" plus a brand-new video later month. "This song actually sat on my hard drive for a long time before I decided I liked it enough to send it off to my label," Grum explains. "I wanted to write a real ‘driving music’ track, taking influences from 70s/80s soft rockers Toto and Fleetwood Mac but adding a modern disco twist with breezy synth riffs and a driving italo bassline." And that's exactly what he did. Stream the song below and grab a free one hour DJ set courtesy of Grum.
