[FREE MP3] Foster The People "Pumped Up Kicks" (Skeet Skeet Show Edit)

While on the topic of Skeet Skeet and his forthcoming new single "I Like It Loud," check out a brand-spanking new remix he produced of Foster The People's breakout tune "Pumped Up Kicks." This sizzling new concoction is once again proof that Skeet Skeet is an equal opportunity listener and producer who freely crosses genre boundaries as he sees fit. Foster The People's original version of "Pumped Up Kicks" is taken from the the group's debut LP "Torches" that is available now.

If you have seen Katy Perry and Robyn in concert in recently, you cannot have missed Skeet Skeet's hot and happening DJ action in between their sets. After Robyn clears the stage and Katy Perry is getting ready for her show, Skeet Skeet masterfully warms up the massive arena crowds with an irresistible mix of pulsing dance beats, catchy pop hooks and funky hip hop grooves.

What I particularly like about Skeet Skeet is that his musical taste runs the gamut - from grimy gangsta rap to edgy rock riffs to candy-coated teen pop. He is an equal opportunity listener and his setlists reflect that.

In many ways, Skeet Skeet is on the forefront of the rising playlist generation that doesn't think in terms of genres, but rather compiles and shuffles through a varied collection of songs to fit a certain taste, mood or aesthetic.

Skeet Skeet announced that he will be releasing his own artist single, aptly titled "I Like It Loud," on July 26. It's the first offering from his debut album due out later this year. The track, which featuring raps and vocals by Donnis and Nadia Oh, is destined to be "a party anthem across the land," according to a press release. Yes people, brace yourself for that.

The DJ, remixer and producer first emerged on the L.A. club scene in 2006. Born Trevor McFedries, a country kid from Iowa, Skeet Skeet realized that playing football in college wasn't going to achieve his dreams. He packed his bags and settled in Los Angeles where he ended up spinning tunes at celebrity hotspots.

After teaming with Shwayze, more and more exciting new opportunities emerged for him such as being the first DJ to play the entire Van Warped Tour, plus producing countless remixes for artists like Fergie, Mike Posner, The Ting Tings, John Legend, Broken Social Scene and, of course, his pal Katy Perry.  (You may also have seen his cameo in the video for Jessie & The Toy Boys' "Push It.")

The multi-talented Skeet Skeet has an ear for everything good, cool and forward, and he should be on the top of your list to keep an eye on. Skeet Skeet is on tour with Katy Perry through August so make sure to catch him in a town near you.

Listen to John Legend "Rolling In The Deep" (Skeet Skeet & Turbotito Remix)

John-legend

Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" is one of the best songs of the year so far. And I have no doubt that this track will be up for a couple of golden statues (at least) at next year's GRAMMY Awards. In fact, the song and Adele's chart-topping album "21" have propelled the British songer to a new level of stardom that she more than deserves.

John Legend covered Adele's original version of "Rolling In The Deep" and shared the acapella of his performance with a few select remixers to create a new twist on Adele's original. Pretty gutsy move by John, but his version stands very solid on his own.

Check out an excellent remix produced by DJ Skeet Skeet together with Turbotito who turn John Legend's cover of Adele's propulsive ballad into a slow-churning soul sensation that will have you rolling along the moment it hits. Highly recommended. (Download in player below or right here.)

Skeet Skeet is bringing more heat in the months to come. He is currently on tour with none other than Katy Perry while working on his own artist album that includes collaborations with, yes, The Cataracs, Christian TV, Donnis, Bonde Do Role and Madi Diaz. Also, check out "Stand Back," a flaming Stevie Nicks cover he collaborated on with SUPERFRAICHE performer Sky Ferreira.
