It has been years since I last blogged about Britney Spears. But today is a special day that warrents a Britney post on this sweet & crunchy blog. Not only did the pop icon drop her new album today (which is a solid production effort), our pal Dr Rosen Rosen put together a remix of Spears' new single "Till The World Ends" that he is sharing with the world today.

Staying true to form, Rosen Rosen completely revamps the original to give it an atmospheric, almost orchestral make-over in which calm meets chaos. He strips out some of the soundboard effects to intensify the bittersweet and frenzied qualities of the song.

Through Rosen Rosen's remix, I can sense a feeling of solitude and vulnerability in Britney's delivery that may be a pretty good reflection of how she is really coping with the turmoil in her life. A Crowd Electric rose to underground fame when they produced a phenomenal remix of Madonna's "Miles Away." It's one of the best remixes of that track and still deserves a formal release. The Brooklyn electro-pop duo of Sparrow Hall & David Crabb got together again and put their crafty hands on Britney Spears' "Circus." Once again, they did a sensational job in turning the pop stomper into a whole new experience with its blizzard of synths, a tight, pulsing beat, Spears's cut up vocals and a few new background vocals. After revamping Katy Perry's "Hot & Cold," the guys from Stalin & Malin have another nice, little surprise for pop aficionados. The Swedish duo have turned Britney Spears' new single "Circus" inside out and created a ultra-smooth, mid-tempo ballad version of the song with a driving new synth arrangement. This alternate version may even turn some of the haters into admirers of this song.

Remixer extraordinaire Doctor Rosen Rosen took Britney Spears' new single "Womanizer" and turned it into a chilled out film noir experience.

The video for "Womanizer" premiered on U.S. broaddcast TV last week and Doctor Rosen Rosen re-edited and re-sequenced the footage to make it fit his own unique vision for the remix. He toned down the track and added a anxious little piano riff, which injects the song with just the right amount of drama. Very, very nicely done.  Get the MP3 here.
