[VIDEO] Bright Light Bright Light "Disco Moment"

British pop singer Bright Light Bright Light (aka Rod Thomas) has been keeping fans in suspense for months about his new music. But the long wait is over. Today, the singer finally premiered the video for his new single "Disco Moment." It is a powerful tune that highlights the singer's knack for combining '90s inspired club beats with crisp melodies and heartfelt songwriting that is always flavored with a heavy dose of hope.

Set to a throbbing disco groove, "Disco Moment" packs heaps of dancefloor drama that is vividly put into words by the pop crooner. "You make it so hard to be around, it is no surprise that the light is breaking up (. . .) You have your disco moment alone. I stand at the side of the room, I'm just a shadow that is flickering. I'm open, but I may just close it," Thomas sings, while the song crescendoes into more uplifting and hopeful territory.

The video for "Disco Moment" is a stylish affair that shows Thomas surrounded by colorful extras and dancers wearing TV screens on their hands. The singer writes me that the idea for the video was to showcase human connections. "The song (and album) are about connections," the singer explains. "What symbolises connections? TV!"

He adds, "It's something people use to connect with the world, and it's something very close, but very distant, like, you connect with it by watching it, but there's no real relationship, which is kind of what the song is about - being close to someone who doesn't let you in."

"Disco Moment" will be released on August 7 in both Europe and North America.

Video Interview: Arjan chats with Bright Light Bright Light

Bright Light Bright Light (aka Rod Thomas) is one of the most promising new pop artists to look out for this year. The Welsh singer stands out from the pack by combining solid, pop-savvy songwriting with smooth disco-infused production stylings that are inspired by his love for '90s dance music.

Thomas released his debut single, titled "Love Part 2," on Popjustice HiFi in partnership with Virgin Records in September. After that initial push, he joined Ellie Goulding on her U.K tour, which garnered him lots of new fans and interest in his music. Currently, he is putting the final touches on his debut album "Make Me Believe In Hope" that is scheduled to be released this summer.

I caught up with Bright Light Bright Light at his home in London to get to know him a little better. We chatted about his music, inspirations, his artist name, his love for Kylie Minogue and much more. Super fun chat with a very talented and very nice guy. Thank you, Rod!

Video Premiere: Bright Light Bright Light "Falling"

This is spellbinding!

Watch Bright Light Bright Light's very special new video for "Falling," his cover of Julee Cruise's Twin Peaks theme song that totally fits the season. The video was inspired by a Bright Light Bright Light fan who lives close to the small Washington town where Twin Peaks was filmed. He heard the cover last month and shot some wintery footage of the area that he shared with Bright Light Bright Light (aka Rod Thomas).

Thomas took that footage and interspersed it with scenes of him performing the song. It's a very cool virtual collaboration that came together very nicely. The video stirs up all the right emotions. It's dreamy, mesmerizing, nostalgic and even slightly haunting. Grab the MP3 here. Love what Bright Light Bright Light is up to. More exclusive stuff very soon.
