Watch Brandon Flowers Acoustic Performs on KROQ

A few hours prior to his show in Los Angeles, Brandon Flowers stopped by rock radio station KROQ to perform two songs from his forthcoming solo album, "Flamingo." Brandon performs "Crossfire" and "Hard Enough" that will be new to most of you, and provides another glimpse of the brilliance that is "Flamingo."

In an interview on KROQ's Kevin & Bean show, Flowers talks a little more about gigging without his Killers mates. His new band is made up of members of Ambulance LTD, a band The Killers used to tour with during their early years. He also reveals that he will perform Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eye" during his global trek of shows to promote his new record. Hotness! Can't wait to catch up with him next week in New York.

Brandon Flowers Readies New Album, Tour; Launches New Web Site

Arjanwrites_bflo

Momentum continues to grow for Brandon Flowers' debut solo album "Flamingo" that will hit (download) stores around the world in September. Late this week, his savvy team unveiled a brand-new web site that features a few Vegas-inspired bells & whistles including a news, music and video section, but also a tour section and a page with some brand-new photography.

No tour dates are listed at this time, but I expect him to hit the road in the fall to promote the album. Time to bring out the plastic palm trees, flamingo birds, a few slot machines and that dapper pink Dior jacket, Mr Flowers! Stay tuned for more updates very soon.

In the meantime, Flowers is still out and about with The Killers. Last week, the group played a Democratic fundraiser in Nevada and were introduced by President Barack Obama who argued in his intro that The Killers look nothing like killers. See that video footage after the jump.

Brandon Flowers Releases Cover Art for "Flamingo"

Brandon-flowers-cover-art

More Brandon Flowers news to report on this morning. After reuniting with the rest of The Killers for both a gig at the White House on Independence Day and a Democratic Party fundraiser in Las Vegas last week, Flowers is getting rave reviews for the video of "Crossfire" that hit the web on Friday. This morning, he also released the official cover for his solo album debut, titled "Flamingo," that will be out in stores in September. The album art invokes memories of Las Vegas' sixties heydays featuring a pensive Flowers pictured in a semi kitsch, somewhat sterile hotel room with a peak at the Vegas Strip from the window. Stay tuned for more.

Brandon Flowers Update: More Press Photos and New Biography Released

Brandon Flowers-General 2-Lucy Hamblin-400

After his new single was finally revealed last week, there's more Brandon Flowers goodness to report this morning. His much-anticipated debut solo single "Crossfire" is being released on iTunes in the U.S. today and in other North American (digital) outlets next week.  (I'm hoping remixes will be available soon as well.)

But there's more. Photographer Lucy Hamblin has shot a collection of photos that will be used in the global promotion of Flowers' new LP "Flamingo." I pointed to some of those photos last week, but a few more surfaced over the weekend, including a glamerous, Las Vegas-styled shot of Flowers surrounded by Bally's Jubilee showgirls. Have a look at some of the new photos here.

Also, make sure to check out a lengthy new biography of Brandon Flowers that includes the singer's commentary about his new album including a description of album tracks. The singer also talks candidly about The Killers' sudden hiatus. Read the raw and unedited version of the biography after the jump.
