Frequent readers of this blog may remember that I first alerted you about emerging pop crooner Jon Bellion when I posted his moving cover of M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" exactly one year ago today. Since then, the young crooner released a few more songs online including "Ungrateful Eyes" that garnered an impressive 100K YouTube views in less than 24 hours following its premiere.
In anticipation of the release of his full-length album later this year, Bellion shares the video for his new single "One More Time." It's a high-energy song packed with desire about letting love happen no matter what others think. "Your father said he'd break my legs if I ever came around again," Bellion roars in the tracks' opening verse invoking a Romeo & Juliet-like storyline. "I don't mind risking the wheel chair if we can get another round in."
The song comes along with a rapidly sequenced video that expresses the frenzy of the love Bellion describes in the video. Particularly pretty is the song's middle eight that briefly pauses the smoldering synth riff that dominates the track and puts full focus on Bellion's pitch-perfect pop vocals. It's an impressive effort that has us curious for more.
