Janet Leon Unleashes Stockholm Gay Pride Anthem 2013 'New Colours'

  Janet Leon - New Colours

After her success with girl group Play, Swedish singer Janet Leon popped back onto the scene with the gloriously catchy "Heartstrings" that she performed on Melodifestivalen in Stockholm earlier this year. With an American-inspired show and clothes designed by Project Runway-winner Naim Josefi, she ended up in fifth place during the semifinals. But despite not making it to the Eurovision Songcontest, "Heartstrings" became one of the most popular songs on iTunes from the competition.

Riding high on that momentum, Leon now returns with her brand-new single, entitled "New Colours," that has been selected as the official theme song for Stockholm Gay Pride 2013. It's a mightily catchy dance-pop tune filled with empowering lyrics about living life in full color. "I'm falling to pieces/I need something to believe/I need new colors/I have no need for black and white," she sings, perfectly hitting all colors of the rainbow with her larger-than-life vocals.

"New Colours" was written by Janet herself together with the GRAMMY Award-winning producer Lisa Desmond, Jesper Jakobsson and none other than GRAMMY-winning producer Jörgen Elofsson who recently co-produced Kelly Clarkson's Billboard Hot 100 #1 "Stronger." The single iwas produced by Jesper Jakobson and Christoffer Wikberg and co-produced by Jörgen Elofsson. "New Colours" was mixed to perfection in the U.S by Jess Sutcliffe who also mixed artists such as The Rolling Stones, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and Agnetha Fältskog.
