If his gig at the Identity Festival last night was any indication, Steve Aoki's forthcoming artist album is going to be a massive, star-studded affair. The DJ, producer and founder of the Dim Mak lifestyle business has collaborated with people like Wynter Gordon, Rivers Cuomo, Travis Barker and Afrojack to create a pop-savvy dance album that he will release in partnership with Ultra Records by the end of the year.
Still untitled, this LP is shaping up to be a major release that will most certainly help Aoki to edge into the mainstream much like David Guetta did a couple of years ago. One thing is very certain from my talk with Aoki last night - dance music has taken over America and its momentum is unstoppable. Full video of the talk with Aoki is coming soon.
