Florida atl-rock oufit Yellowcard (remember them?) recently visited the Billboard offices to perform a few songs, including a string-heavy cover of Katy Perry's "E.T." It turns out the band is a big fan of Katy Perry, her producer Dr Luke and their "rad melodies." Watch Yellowcard's version of "E.T" after the break.
Yellowcard gives the chart-topping "E.T." a unique twist of their own by adding the violin. "There's a hook that goes through the whole song that's a really staccato synth part and having Sean [Mackin] playing violin was a really cool way to have that part in an acoustic setting," singer Sean O'Donnell says. "We used the guitar and the violin to really emulate it and do an octave higher and an octave lower, which is how they do it on the record."
