[VIDEO] Arjan Chats With Martin Solveig

French DJ and producer Martin Solveig is taking Europe by storm with his new album "Smash." The record was introduced by the hit single "Hello" (featuring Dragonette) that has been massive pop hit across Europe and is now edging to the top of the dance charts in North America.

"Smash" features a slew of exciting collaborators who add their own unique twist to Solveig's rocky dance and pop riffs. The always fun and often quirky Solveig recorded three additional tracks with Martina Sorbara of Dragonette, plus he teamed up with rising pop sensation Dev, newcomers Sunday Girl and Bloc Party's Kele. I recently caught up with Solveig in Paris to talk for a few minutes about the unexpected success of "Hello" and his new album. (Note his description of Dev on "We Came To Smash." It has me cracking up everytime.)

[VIDEO] Coldplay Premieres Video for "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall"

Coldplay-video

Fresh from their headlining set on Saturday night at Glastonbury, Coldplay just released the video for their new single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" earlier this morning. Partly filmed in downtown Los Angeles, the video stays true to the song's escapist lyrics, bright melody and uplifting message with an abundance of splashing color, glow in the dark scribbles and fast-moving stop motion animation.

The video's (seemingly) simple production neatly contrasts with the song's grand, atmospheric sonic stylings with universal and blissful lyrics about hope despite adversity that will turn every sad summer day into a soaring one. "Turn the music up, I got my records on," lead man Chris Martin sings. "Maybe I'm in the black, maybe I'm on my knees, but my heart is beating and my pulses start. Don't want to see another generation drop, I'd rather be a comma than a full stop." Watch the video after the break.

[NEW SONG] Listen to Natalia Kills Featuring Will.I.Am "Free"

Emh6_NataliaFreeNewCvr_1

Natalia Kills switches gears on her new single "Free" that was released today. Known for her dark, throbbing electro pop and mildly twisted lyrics, "Free" is an easy, breezy and super catchy pop tune featuring the rhymes of Will.I.Am that perfectly fits the season.

Truthfully, it is good for Natalia to serve up some lighter fare and show the world that there are more sides to her than one. With tracks like "Mirrors,""Free" and "Wonderland," her forthcoming debut LP "Perfectionist" is shaping up to be a diverse effort that should please pop fans far and wide. "Free" was a co-writen by Natalia Kills, Kid Cudi, Jeff Bhasker and Dion Wilson. (Download Natalia Kills "Free" on iTunes | Rdio)

While on the topic of Skeet Skeet and his forthcoming new single "I Like It Loud," check out a brand-spanking new remix he produced of Foster The People's breakout tune "Pumped Up Kicks." This sizzling new concoction is once again proof that Skeet Skeet is an equal opportunity listener and producer who freely crosses genre boundaries as he sees fit. Foster The People's original version of "Pumped Up Kicks" is taken from the the group's debut LP "Torches" that is available now.
