It's not exactly a secret that I'm a big fan of Far East Movement. They're a class act who effortlessly crank out instantly catchy, genre-mashing pop tunes that are packed with positivity. If you thought "Like A G6" is all that there's to them, I encourage you to listen to the group's "Free Wired," and check out tracks like "Fighting For Air," "She Owns The Night" and "If I Was You."
Label mate Frankmusik joined the guys of Far East Movement for a very special acoustic session of their new single "Rocketeer" at the Cherrytree House a few weeks ago. The original cut features the vocals of Ryan Tedder of One Republic.
Frank kills it on this version with pitch-perfect vocals, and yes, a bit of beatboxing to give it a unique new flavor. This version gets a triple three fingers up! You can download this acoustic rendition in glorious MP3 format on iTunes.
In the meantime, stay tuned for a very cool extended video of "Rocketeer," titled "L.A. Dreamer," that tells the story of Far East Movement and their L.A. roots. Directed by DPD of Transparent Agency. Check out some stills of the video here.
