Brandon Flowers Unleashes Solo Single, Releases Brand-New Press Photos
June 15, 2010
Oh boy, I'm in love.
After teasing us for over almost two weeks, Brandon Flowers finally released a full stream of his long-awaited solo single "Crossfire" on his web site today. The singer counted down to the big unveiling by uncovering the song title letter by letter everyday while also revealing different instrumental parts of the song until finally his vocals were added today to complete the song.
And with a new single and a forthcoming new album come brand-new press photos (click to view) to kick the media offensive into gear. Shot by talented photographer Lucy Hamblin, the main photo features a scruffy Brandon dressed in good 'ole Americana gazing out into the fiery Nevada sky. Once again, Brandon Flowers makes cowboy look really glamorous.
The shot fits "Crossfire" well. As I wrote before, the song is a signature Flowers tune with a grand, arena-sized soundscape and lyrics of near biblical proportion about heaven, hell and the temptation in between. Flowers doesn't just tell simple stories, he creates entire full-scale epics that fit a desert.
