Listen to Del Marquis "Runaround" (Louis La Roche 'In 1995' Remix)

While fans are eagerly awaiting new music from Scissor Sisters, the group's lead guitarist Del Marquis has independently been recording and releasing solo material to indulge in his own personal music tastes.

Marquis showcased some of his solo tracks at my SUPERFRAICHE New Pop Music showcase back in June, giving the audience a taste of his unbridled love for vintage '80s pop combined with atmospheric screen projections (Even a bad case of laryngitis couldn't stop the fun. Del's a trooper!)

On September 22, Marquis will release "Runaround," the final installment in his series of digital EPs. This last one looks to be his poppiest EP to date. Think Trevor Thorn meets Tears For Fears meets Soft Cell.

The release not only features three new tracks but also five remixes of previous songs that accentuate the originals' '80s qualities even more. The EP includes for example an Erasure-esque revamp of "Character Assassination" by Portugese producer Bullycau that is a must-listen. Get a taste by checking out the excellent Louis La Roche remix of "Runaround." (Eighties pop music lovers must do themselves a big favor and click here to download Del's previous solo EPs on iTunes.)
