Listen to Brazen feat. Adam Lambert "What's Love Got To Do With It"

Who knew that self-styled glam rocker Adam Lambert had such a love for contemporary disco pop?

Check out Brazen's cover of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It" that features Adam Lambert's vocals. It seems that this is a track that the American Idol finalist recorded before his recent run on Idol, and some may even question if it's really Lambert's shrieking. I think there's no doubt that the glamtastic vocals on this cover are undeniably his.

Brazen is the alter ego of Northern Irish artist Aaron McClelland, aka Fonzerelli who has remixed many European dance acts and is championed by several high-profile DJs including Tiesto. According to Wikipedia, Aaron "teamed up with Adam Lambert [prior to reaching the final 4 in the American Idol finale] under their Digital Glitter guise and has been close to the singer since, helping him out with promotion."

Lambert restrains himself pretty well on this Tina Turner revamp, not trying to outperform the original. It's not exactly something you'd hear on American radio, but this track may very well be huge in clubs across the Mediterranean this summer.

The song will be released on iTunes on June 29.

I don't think that is Adam. The voice sounds different. I have heard a lot of his preidol stuff.

love it!!

It's actually already on iTunes, listed under Brazen, album is Big Room Tunes 2009 (Big in Ibiza).

It's Adam...just listen @ 1:36.

Posted by: MelCabral at Jun 19, 2009 9:18:20 AM

I seriously doubt this is Adam. I too have heard ALOT of his pre-idol stuff. And there's ONE thing that Adam never, ever does -- he doesn't sing about men and women. Doesn't...((except on the live performance of Whole Lotta Love when he said "woman, u need..." but that was probably cuz of usage rights and all))... On the recorded version of Whole Lotta he changed "woman" to "baby". In Satisfaction, he dropped the line "girl reaction" completely. Adam is gay and has and will ALWAYS be true to that. And this voice just doesn't sound like him at all. Too plain.

Where's the high note? It's cool but he could do better than that?

Posted by: Mimi at Jun 19, 2009 9:37:17 AM

Oh...that's Adam...doing his chameleon imitation...listen to the background singing...that's Adam as well...Sounds more like what your used to...Also couple times in songs he does mini riffs..can also tell then...He's amazing how he can take on any style...the control over his vocal instrument is adamazing!!!

Posted by: AdamTwentyFourSeven at Jun 19, 2009 9:42:33 AM

Of course it's Adam. OMG. Duh.

Posted by: wildflower at Jun 19, 2009 11:04:11 AM

I heard him in the background (his high notes) but that voice is not his. If that is the way he is going to sound on CDs there is nothing unusual or exciting there. Listen to the way he pronounces the word "Hand" in the beginning of the song. His diction and pronunciation is usually perfect. He could possibly be doing background but it doesn't even sound like him.

Guys this is obviously Adam. Duh.

Sounds like Adam to me. He worked with DJ Fonzerelli before idol - you can read Fonzerelli's comments about Adam here on the MenaMusic myspace page: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendId=282377170 (or go to the blog from http://www.myspace.com/menamusicofficial)

If you go to Fonzerelli Official on youtube, you can also listen to Adam do "Oh My Ra" and "Gigalo" for Digital Glitter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEqjFGfe_y0&feature=related I hope these are put up on iTunes soon as well.

If people are not familar with Adam's pre-Idol music, they should look for "Kiss and Tell" and "Pop Goes the Camera" (techno) and the (rock) tracks he did while fronting The Citizen Vein - all on YouTube.

Yes it is Adam, he did a lot of recordings before Idol to try to jump start his career and sometimes just to pay the bills, and now people who did not think he was good enough are just trying to cash in on his new found fame. I have a name for that VULTURES.

This definitely IS Adam....no doubt about it. Furthermore, it sounds like something Adam WOULD do and also it fits the description he has given of the type of music he WANTS to do....rock, with an electronic edge. Welcome to Adam's sound folks. BTW, since I love electronic music and love Adam I also love this song.

This guy's voice is AWFUL. If this is the crap he's going to be putting out, he'll flop WAY sooner than I expected. MOST OVERRATED AI contestant since that God awful Taylor Hicks.

There is no doubt whatsoever that the high vocals heard in the background are Adam. Love it!

Isn't it amazing how many insects start crawling out to feed off of celebrity. Adam has stated that this and others are not representative of the music he is currently working on. This was done as session work and Adam will definitely not be receiving any further compensation. I'd say don't buy it, there are lots of free downloads for it out there on the web. If the insects don't see alot of money maybe they will crawl back under their rock.

Awful...please dont this is quality dance music.

Posted by: Darryl at Jun 21, 2009 1:41:14 AM

UGH, that's HORRIBLE. All I can think of is ravers with green hair and glow sticks. Incredibly boring song. Sure, it's a club song for dancing, but it's awful, awful, awful. I didn't hear anything that was OBVIOUSLY Adam, but it could be him. Doubt that he's going to EVER touch this or be proud of it. He had to pay the bills, so he did some crappy jobs. Haven't most of us done that?

"Who knew that self-styled glam rocker Adam Lambert had such a love for contemporary disco pop?"

I believe we all knew after reading what his dad said in RS. Or at least most of us caught it.

I think it's Adam. The background vocals sound familiar like his AI studio version of Play the Funky Music.

Posted by: Nora Ray at Jun 22, 2009 6:19:06 AM

Of course it's Adam. You can hear it in all his trademark vocals such as instead of singing "IT'S only" with an overpronounced T he always does a little slur that sounds like "Is" only..but with a thicker "s"..almost an sh but not really a hard h..Allison picked up the same thing....

This is classic dance music especially in popular cities. Apparently you people never have been to or even heard about the international dance party scene.. Fire Island, Miami ,London,Berlin, Tokyo,.... Ibiza with the largest most famous club in the world...trance, Eurodisco, techno...all Ibiza introduced.

Try learning something about the world. Did you even note the little logo on the screen "big in Ibiza"? Not to mention remixes are huge...

Of course it's Adam. It's well know that Adam and Fonerezlli have worked together. It was done for the European dance clubs. Fonzerelli does a lot of mixes and is well known. The difference is unlike Hi Fi/Wilshire records Fonzerelli doesn't take advantage of Adam. Some people with their posts should not be allowed a keyboard. Number one yes it's him. 2) It was meant to be played in European nightclubs and US nightclubs not made for the radio. It's pure nightclub dance music. Some people are so ignorant they should be sent to their own island and not allowed to breed (Darryl). Fonzerelli is well known and respected in the European market. Probably not so well known in closed off middle America. Sometimes it's embarassing reading some of the comments.

As Adam said, the work he recorded prior to AL doesn't reflect his real music...He just did whatever opportunities presented to him to make a living!
