Support Music Education - ArjanWrites.com Supports The Dallas Austin Foundation

Time to pause the music for just a brief, tiny moment for an important announcement.

Today, I'm announcing an online fundraiser for The Dallas Austin Foundation a 501(c)(3) organization founded by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter and producer Dallas Austin to support music education in public high schools.

Last year, I joined the board of the organization to donate my time and resources to support this great cause. Music education truly makes a difference in the lives of so many young people by fostering creativity and talent. Research and experience shows that students who participate in music programs perform better in school. They are more likely to graduate and build successful careers.

The Dallas Austin Foundation introduces students to the opportunities that exist within the music and entertainment industries while incorporating character development and reinforcing academic standards. As part of its popular “Don’t Stop The Music” curriculum, The Dallas Austin Foundation has established recording studios in ten metro-Atlanta schools to teach students song writing and music production with the help of trained educators.

Especially in this tight economy I feel it is so important to chip in and give to support music programs in public schools that are jeopardized by dramatic budget cuts.

I'd like to raise $1000 in the next four weeks in support of the expansion of the "Don't Stop The Music Program." If you'd like to support the mission of The Dallas Austin Foundation and/or if you want to say thanks for all the free MP3s posted on the site, you can donate using PayPal pressing  the "give" button on the top right-hand side of this blog. On top of all of these donations, I plan on donating part of the ArjanWrites.com ad revenue to the Foundation as well.

Thank you so much!
