Check out the easy, breezy "Welcome To The Bay" by emerging San Francisco emcee Kero One. The song tells the story of Northern California sunshine, the pursuit of the American Dream and the wealth of Silicon Valley juxtaposed with poverty. "No matter how long I can stay. I'll be here. No matter how long I'm away, I'll be there," the emcee says.

Imagine Will Smith's voice enhanced with the styles of Common and Q-Tip, and you've got Kero One. Super positive and upbeat hip hop loaded with soul.

Kero One used to be a web designer but had a dream to be a rapper. He networked, wrote music and kept booking club performances all over Northern California. A  breakthrough came when one of his demos made it to a small Tokyo record store that picked it up and started selling it. The underground success in Japan led to a steady buzz in San Francisco that led to high-profile collaborations with Talib Kweli and Mark Farina.

"Welcome To The Bay" is taken from Kero One's new digital LP that will be released in April. The MP3 featured below has an annoying little promo announcement in it, but I wanted you to have the opportunity to have it anyway. If you want the original track without the interruption, you can get it here.
