Italian techno DJ/producer Misstress Barbara will release her much anticipated debut artist album, titled "I'm No Human," in May. The lead single, a cover of the legendary Leonard Cohen’s “Dance Me To The End Of Love,” was released on iTunes this week.
Misstress Barbara decided to cover the classic track during the writing process for her new album. “I was really inspired and did it in one afternoon,” she says. The result is a stunning emotional spin on a classic song. Using a minimal techno approach that stays true to her roots in electronic music, Barbara adds an exciting new element – her own sultry, arresting vocals. Plus, it is great to see that a techno DJ reached beyond her genre to find inspiration. We need more of that.
"I’m No Human" will be comprised of 11 tracks with production, vocals and lyrics by Misstress Barbara, and also includes contributions from Sam Roberts, Brazilian Girls and Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John.
