New Alanis Video: Love It or Smash It?

Alanis Morissette quietly released the video for her new single "Not As We," a ballad from her amazing yet underrated album "Flavors of Entanglement." Directed by James Whitaker, the video shows simple and clean stills from Alanis performing the song interspersed with bleak images of a pensive Alanis drinking coffee, reading a book, laying on the beach, taking a bath and looking out of the window. This song might bore some of you to no end while others might be touched by Morisette's emotive delivery. I'm leaning towards the latter depending on what mood I'm in. It's pretty perfect for a rainday. (Click here to get Alanis latest CD on Amazon.com for only $5.99. That's a steal.)

LOVE it. Not the video so much, but the song.

Oh, Ryan broke her heart. Great healing song.

Love the song very much. Such a mature handling of breaking up. Oh Arjan, the title of the song should be "Not As We" :-)

Though super mellow, I have to say I love it. She's gone from "would she go down on you in a theater" to "gun-shy and shivering." What a difference a few years makes.
