Sleepthief Covers Duran Duran's "The Chauffeur"

While Duran Duran tries to reinvent itself with the help of Timbaland, there is an emerging new electro artist who finds inspiration in Duran Duran's older work.

(Listen to Duran Duran's brand-new collaboration with Timbaland here that I find disappointing.)

Sleepthief and vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw produced an accomplished cover of Duran Duran's classic "The Chauffeur" that officially premieres this Sunday on Logo's NewNowNext show.

Justin Elswick is creative brain behind Sleepthief that released its first album, titled "Dawnseeker," in 2006. For this project, he teamed with a group of popular dance vocalists, including Jody Quine, Harland, Caroline Lavelle and Kirsty Hawkshaw who is probably mostly known for her vocals on Tiesto's trance gem "Just Be."

Elwick's partnership with Kirsty Hawkshaw has culminated into the cover of "The Chauffeur," plus a remix EP featuring no less than 10 remixes of the song. Tracks include mixes by Flipside, Lemonsoul and DJ Vapour who created a thrilling drum & bass version. (Click here to purchase "The Chauffeur" and remixes on iTunes.

I can't be the only person who finds this to be an impossibly dull version of a what should be an unsinkable song?
