Rufus Waingwright Makes Special Dedication

Rufus Wainwright gives his mother the ultimate (belated) Mothers Day gift. Check out this very prominent photo of Rufus and his mom on the back sleeve of his "Release The Stars" disc that is accompanied by a very special dedication: "This album is dedicated to my mother who still whispers in my ear that I'm great." How sweet is that? (Click image to enlarge)

Not sweet, sickening! He is an abhorrent child in a middle-aged man's body. He makes me feel ill!

i think thats really nice. his voice is amazing, but i guess not to everyone's taste. what is abhorrent, are the goddamn FBI logo/warnings printed on the backs and now sometimes the discs of cds. what a way to ruin the artwork. i wish more artists would take a stand against this government graffitti. im sure it doesnt accomplish what they intend.

Rufus' voice, terrible? C'mon now, it doesn't have to be your style of music, but you can't deny the man has a voice from the Gods.

I think the dedication is sweet -- and the record, incredible.

You may not like his voice but please don't use words like abhorrent and terrible about a man who has the songwriting skills of the likes of Leonard Cohen and Burt Bacharach. I happen to love his voice and music. I bet years from now we will be hearing covers of his songs being performed by the band du jour.
