Svoy was born in a small port town in the Russian Far East. At a young age, he took an interest in music and moved to Moscow to attend the Russian Academy of Music. He impressed his professors and was offered a scholarship to study jazz at Boston's Berklee College of Music, the word's largest independent music school. In Boston, he experimented with different genres and discovered that he didn't want to be limited by just playing jazz. "I entered Berklee as a jazz pianist and left as a pop electronica artist," the talented singer says in a press statement. "I think a lot of my professors won't forgive me for that."

He wrote and produced all the songs on his debut "Electric" that was picked up by Rendezvous Records. Lead single taken from the album is "Driving Away," a gorgeous pop song with dreamy harmonies, a compelling rhythm section and a deliciously hooky chorus. Fans of Imogen Heap and comparable electro-pop will be in for a treat.

Svoy's lyrics are equally engaging. He serves up hope for those looking to find their own way. "I'm running away. From blue hiding grey. From doubt and despair. There must be an exit somewhere. Post and poles. Means and goals. Everybody has to drive right." (Click here to purchase Svoy's "Electric" on Amazon.)

Wow, what a killer track! Good find, indeed. I haven't heard the rest of the album, but it sounds to me like he could be the male equivalent of Kate Havnevik / Imogen Heap.
