To celebrate the seventy-five anniversary of the Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, famed rock photographer Mick Rock participated in a special photo exhibition that opened in New York's Irving Plaza last month. Rock shot brand-new photos of Brandon Flowers, Peaches, Franz Ferdinand and Johnny Marr for this new exhibit.
The show also features older photographs of artists like Bob Dylan, Beastie Boys, The Smiths and Blondie, all donning Ray-Ban Wayfarers. One classic Madonna shot is included in the exhibit as well. It is from the "Lucky Star" single cover photoshoot in 1983 and shows her in bangles, crucifixes and the Boy Toy belt. (Click here for information about the exhibit, photos and some Quicktime movies.)
