Dance aficionados in Ibiza went crazy over "Yeah Yeah" by Bodyrox when it first hit the island this summer and became a dancefloor sensation. Now, this excellent dance track is gaining mainstream attention in the European pop charts. This should come as no surprise. The incredibly catchy tune perfectly combines acid house, dirty synth riffing and the feisty punk vocals by singer Luciana Caporaso with lyrics like, "Raw dirty hot track/Push it in and pull it back/Am I glamour pushing it/See if you can top that."
Luciana is a regular at famous London electroclash clubs like Nag Nag Nag and Trash where she was recruited by producers and artists for several music projects. Together with Michael Gray and Nick Clow, who toured with the Pet Shop Boys this fall, Luciano formed the synth-punk group Portobella. With a bit of luck the success of "Yeah Yeah" will rub off on Portobella.
