Gwen Stefani is beautiful. I once walked passed her in Manhattan's West Village on a sunny afternoon while she was with hubby Gavin, taking baby Kingston around in a stroller. Even though the Rossdale-Stefani family was enjoying the day icognito, the casual Gwen looked completely flawless and spot on. But the Queen of Originality is getting me a little worried with her new single "Wind It Up." I'm underwhelmed by the song to say the least. I think "Wind It Up" is a clever variation of "Hollaback Girl" that is drenched in lots of attitude and style but lacks innovation that we have come to expect from Stefani. Most of her new album "The Sweet Escape" is once again produced by The Neptunes who did such a great job on "Love, Angel, Music, Baby," but judging from the first single I hope it is not going to be an oversampled, overproduced cut 'n paste extravaganza. Let's wait and hear.
