Photos: Lo-Fi-Fnk in New York
November 03, 2006
Lo-Fi-Fnk's August Hellsing and Leo Drougge (pictured above) played their first-ever gigs in the U.S. this week at CMJ's daytime Fader party and at Galapagos on Wednesday night. The electro-pop duo from Sweden who told me previously they are "too gay to be straight and too straight to be gay" were joined on stage by bassist Nona Rocks. Joe sent me photos from the two gigs that I uploaded to Flickr. He took some great shots and I must admit that the guys are as cute as their music. If you are not familiar with the band, make sure to stream their pseudo coming out track "Steppin' Out."
BrooklynVegan blogs about Jerri and Benjamin who wrote brief reviews about the Lo-Fi-Fnk show at Galapagos and were very impressed. "Not only did they provide a fantastic album earlier this year, but it translated wonderfully in concert. It was the late night dancing and revelry I needed," Jerri wrote.
In related news, Lo-Fi-Fnk has remixed the new Feeling single "Love It When You Call." You can preview the remix here. I love it when two Arjanwrites.com favorites come together. (Thanks to Paul for the heads up.)
