The video for The Killers' much-anticipated video "When You Were Young" premiered a couple of hours ago on Channel 4 in the U.K.. The video is approximately five minutes long and includes the teaser footage that was released yesterday as a prelude to an ambiguous story about love and betrayal. The story is interjected with scenes of the group playing in a dusty Mexican bar.
I noticed a few things in this video. First of all, guitarist Dave and bass player Mark have switched places. Secondly, Dave is shirtless with a leather vest and might perhaps be aiming to be the new Brandon. But most importantly, I saw that Brandon still has those typical theatrical, Chaplin-esque moves that are so distinctly his and make his performance so compelling.
As far as I'm concerned this is a great effort and sets a perfect stage for the new album that is out on October 3 (and is phenomenal). On a related note, the group announced they will be touring in October. Check their web site for details. Pre-sale starts Tuesday, August 22. Make sure to see them while they still perform in the smaller venues.
