Madison Park are the coolest bunch in the music business. Husband and wife James and DeAnna Cool have created their own slick brand of house-infused dance music that is chill as much as it is energizing. Today, the duo releases their sexy sophomore effort "In The Stars" that includes their current Billboard Dance hit "I'm Listening," a fresh dance jive with an '80s twist. The album was co-produced by Lenny B who previously worked with Natasha Bedingfield and Gwen Stefani.
In 2002, the Cool couple began producing
the popular New Sound Theory lounge compilation series that was sold
at selected fashion boutiques and music stores around the country. Through
this series they introduced their own music under the name Madison Park
with DeAnna on vocals and James behind the keyboards. Since then they have gained national distribution into record stores and digital download sites. Their solo debut "Boutique" delivered several Billboard dance hits including "Ocean Drive" and "My Personal Moon."
"In The Stars" shows off the poppier side of Madison Park. When I recently met up with James and DeAnna they explained that their pop sensibilities have been awakened by some of the great pop music that has come out in recent months, from Madonna to Kelly Clarkson. They also spoke about the importance of gay fans to get their music noticed in a country where mainstream radio is obsessed with rock, hip & hop and rap music. "Gays keep dance music alive and well," says DeAnna in our interview that will appear on Arjan Writes soon.
