Arjan Chats With Runner Runner
Runner Runner is about to take over summer with their big label debut single, "So Obvious." The Orange Country foursome delivers a fun, invigorating blast of catchy pop-rock that perfectly demonstrates the guys' knack for writing solid, radio-ready pop hooks. "So Obvious" is taken from the group's self-titled debut album that will be released on September 28 and is filled with arena-sized, punk-infused pop gems.
The group of front man Ryan Ogren, guitarists Nick Bailey and Peter Munters, bassist Jon Berry and drummer James Ulrich is currently on tour to warm up crowds around the country with their brand of pop.
I met up with Ryan, Nick and James earlier this week in Boston to chat a little more about Runner Runner, the sound on their album, songwriting and their own use of mobile phones that is front and center in the video for "So Obvious." Really cool guys and a fun little chat that will give you a good introduction to the emerging Runner Runner. (Make sure to watch video for "So Obvious right here.)
Watch Runner Runner "So Obvious"
Every summer needs a power pop anthem, and Runner Runner is the front runner to deliver one this season. Watch the video for their ferociously hooky new single, "So Obvious," that is accompanied by a colorful video that fits this Orange County five-piece perfectly.
Runner Runner is the teaming of "five distinct personalities" who have joined forces to "make one mighty sound." Super fun, super catchy. Runner Runner's music is released through a new partnership with Capitol Records, C.E. Music (a new label formed by David Letterman's Worldwide Pants Inc.) and Jack Ponti’s MRV label.
