Hot New Talent Alert: Watch Alex Adams "Control" from Debut EP 'Open Eyes'
The thing that instantly grabbed me about "Control" is Alex Adams' finely-tuned soul-pop vocals that is reminiscent of artists like Sam Smith and Alex Clare. Adams' poignant and moving delivery add a palpable intensity to the song's production that is truly one of a kind. "Control" is taken from Adam's new EP, entitled "Open Eyes," that was released on in the U.S. this week.
Written by Alex Adams and Rob Flynn, "Control" tells the story about the need of taking control of a situation in those times when you feel as if you're losing grip. "When I make a stab/You say make two," Adams sings in the song's first verse. "With every breath/I'm breathing you/I'm reaching out/But no one cares. "
Adams slowly but surely climbs out of his misery and gets back on top when the song's propels into its glittery chorus and Adams sings, "My body will explode when I don't scream out loud/Now I'm taking control." The video for the song neatly echoes the song's sentiments when it splashes color all over the dim-lit visuals that the video opens with. It's an impressive debut effort of a very exciting new talent. (Listen to Alex Adams' entire "Open Eyes" EP here.)
