Katy Tiz Talks Songswriting; Performs New Song 'I Don't Give A' [VIDEO]

While on a whirlwind tour of North America to visit radio stations all across the continent, pop debutante Katy Tiz is sharing some exciting new goodies. Last week, the British singer unveiled the official video for her debut single "Famous" and yesterday she shared a video of an acoustic performance of new track "I Don't Give A" that she recorded earlier this month.

The unplugged performance of "I Don't Give A" gives fans a bit of insight into Tiz's creative process. The pop singer often starts her writing sessions with her brother who plays acoustic guitar and gives their early experimentations a reggae groove to add some flavor. Lyrically, the singer's approach differs quite a bit, but in a press release she explains that no matter what topic is on her mind, she never holds back. "I’m definitely an open book," Tiz affirms. "I want to share my journey with everyone."

She adds, "This music is me. I’m relatively outspoken. I’m not rude, but I believe in saying what you feel. Everything is so clean-cut, and people in the industry are so perfectly formed. That's not me. I’m slightly messier. You know who I am when you hear this. It’s real."

This new "I Don't Give A" perfectly demonstrates Tiz's songwriting approach and authentic storytelling. “Personally, I search for songs that comfort me and let me know I’m not the only one who feels a certain way," Tiz concludes. "If I help one person through what I was feeling when I wrote a song, I’ll be happy. I hope I can give them what I searched for in music—and that a couple of people other than my mom and dad like the songs." (Click here to download Katy Tiz "Famous" on iTunes now.)
