Pop Newcomer Jess Bell Premieres Video For 'Dandelion' [Review]
Jess Bell is without a doubt one of the most promising new pop talents I've ran across this year. Frequent readers of this blog may remember that I first alerted you about this mightily talented British singer and actress when I posted her debut tune "Dandelion" back in August. It's a gorgeous mid-tempo ballad that features her one-of-a-kind vocals that will instantly have you sit up and listen.
'Dandelion' tells a very personal tale about love and loss that refers to some of her past relationships. It's about those moments of "he loves me, he loves me not" that inspired the song. She explained to me earlier in an email, "As a little girl I loved wishing on a dandelion in the hope that the wish would be granted. I'm a spiritual person and I still wish on stars, but it has to be the first one you see and not any other."
Bell just released a brand-new video for the song that perfectly captures the song's intensely atmospheric qualities. Shot on the British coast at sunset, the video compiles pastel shots of beach imagery that is interspersed with footage of Bell performing the song. Watch, share and love, and make sure to watch this space for more Jess Bell updates. (Download a totally guilt-free MP3 of Jess Bell "Dandelion" here.)
