Exclusive: Listen to Icona Pop 'I Love It' feat. Charli XCX (Volta Bureau Remix)
Mainstream momentum continues to build for Icona Pop who keep on cranking out some sleek and stylish electro-pop. On Monday, Sweden's newest pop darlings will release a brand-new remix EP for their new single "I Love It" that features Charli XCX. The EP features peppy remakes by dancefloor faves such as Sazon Booya, Nari & Milani and Style of Eye. Also included on the digital release is a remix of "I Love It" by Volta Bureau that you can stream exclusively on ArjanWrites.com.
In a recent interview, Icona Pop's Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo explain that their new music has been very inspired by their move from Stockholm to London last year. "We went to London about a year ago and got a huge interest in the DJ scene and the London scene," the group tells Interview Magazine. "It's such a big difference if you go from Sweden to London or America to London. So we went there to explore the music and we kind of fell into the dance scene."
The group's Swedish knack for melody and proper understanding of deep, driving beats is what defines Icona Pop's forward-thinking sound. The punk-pop and dancefloor sensibilities of "I Love It" are a great example of that. The remix EP for "I Love It" takes those two key ingredients to a whole new level of excitement. Washington DC's Volta Bureau amps up the original with an explosive new groove and buzzing new synth track while not straying too far from the original that w'eve come to love so much.
While American are getting to enjoy the "I Love It" remix EP, Icona Pop released the video for their new Swedish single, entitled "We Got The World," earlier this week. One of the duo's big priority in December to conquer the U.S. They will be zig-zagging across the country in the next few months together with Marina & The Diamonds, which will be pop show that is not to be missed.
