It's been a hot minute since we last heard from Dutch DJ Don Diablo but after his move from Amsterdam to London, he has replenished his creative mojo while diligently working on new material with writers such as Angela Hunte (Jay-Z & Alicia Keys / Magnetic Man) and Takura (Chase & Status). One of the first new tracks he's sharing with fans is "The Golden Years" that is taken from his forthcoming new EP "Lights Out" that will be released in the U.K. on August 26. The EP will be the first in a series of EPs to be released over the following months through Columbia Records.

Featuring soaring, rock-edged vocals by Cass Lowe, "The Golden Years" is an uplifting dance tune driven by a slapping groove and Diablo's bareknuckle production stylings that the DJ recorded as a tribute to all the people that have supported him throughout his career up to this point. "[The song] is an ode to the people I love, the city I grew up in and the fans who have been supporting me from the start," Diablo says in a press release.

The single comes along with a compilation video that shows his hectic life on the road. "The video has been over six months in the making and was shot in 15 different countries, on three different cameras, and features cameos from my parents, Martin Solveig, the hardcore fans, Dragonette, the love of my life, Diplo, Noisia and the family dog amongst others. I feel like it's by far my most personal video to date," he smiles.

His forthcoming "Lights Out" EP will also include the track "Lights Out Hit" that features none other than Angele Hunte who wrote with Jay-Z on "Empire State Of Mind. In the studio, Diablo and Hunte struck an immediate connection." I played her this new instrumental I just finished," he says. "She immediately reacted to it with the words "It's a lights out hit!". That phrase really stuck with me and we ended up building a track around it. The video we shot for it really builds on the tribal feeling of the record and features not only Angela, a very talented African dancer and myself but also a random selection of fluffy animal."
