Cherry Cherry Boom Boom 'Come Back From San Francisco' Video Premiere

After treating pop fans to the original cover version and a slew of impressive remixes, Cherry Cherry Boom Boom unleashes the official video for his brilliant remake of The Magnetic Fields' "Come Back From San Francisco" today that premieres exclusively here on ArjanWrites.com.

The imaginative split-screen treatment of the video for "Come Back From San Francisco" features scenes of lovers on opposite sides of the country who seem worlds away, staying in touch via letters and webcam. That footage is interspersed with images of Cherry Cherry Boom Boom performing the song while playing the piano. By visually orchestrating multiple layers of imagery, the video successfully adds depth and richness to the song's melancholic narrative, and helps to bring its original sentiment to life.

As the president and founder of Cherrytree Records, who helped develop artists like Feist, Robyn, LMFAO, Far East Movement and Keane, Martin "Cherry Cherry Boom Boom" Kierszenbaum sure is no stranger to making music videos. "It's funny because I work on videos all of the time with the wonderful artists on Cherrytree but it's a whole different kettle of fish making a video as the narrator," he writes me. "I just approached it in the same way I approached recording the song - with lots of love for the spirit of its lyric and melody."

"We kept the shoot very informal and set a lot of it in my usual surroundings - the studio," he adds. "The split screen idea felt like a good way to include several narratives at once as well as depict the individual magic of San Francisco and New York City."

Kierszenbaum's Cherry Cherry Boom Boom artist project gives him a unique opportunity to explore some of his own creative urges as a producer and songwriter. "I'm very fortunate in that I only write, play and sing when I really want to," he explains. "My day job at Cherrytree ensures that I don't have to do it for any other reason. I grew up playing in bands and performing so it's a bit like riding a bike and although I'm surrounded every day by people who do it amazingly, I do it when it feels right."

With the success of "Come Back From San Francisco" what is next for Cherry Cherry Boom Boom? "I try to eat, breathe and live music. It brings me joy," Kierszenbaum smiles. "I just finished a remix for a dope new group from Chicago called Krewella.  I'm also super proud of the work we've done at Cherrytree to help bring Ellie Goulding the attention she deserves. I get to work around amazing people and artists at Cherrytree and I'm stoked to be able to spend most of my time and energy doing that."
