Conor Maynard Premieres Video for New Single "Vegas Girl" [Video Review]

If there's one lesson to be learned from Conor Maynard's new music video, it is that if you put your mind to something anything can happen.

After literally bumping into the girl of his dreams in this new video, the pop singer walks away with just a photo of her and the dream to meet her again. Maynard puts his friends and best social media skills to work to locate his "Vegas Girl" by posting on Twitter and plastering the city with posters. In scenes similar to Tinie Tempah's "Written In The Stars," Maynard even takes his search to a New York City rooftop to make sure there's no stone left unturned in his quest for love.

The video's storyline and grand theme about making the seemingly impossible happen is in many ways a reference to Maynard's own meteoric rise to fame. Starting out posting covers on YouTube alongside many others, Maynard turned the odds of getting mainstream recognition in his favor with the help of his loyal fans.

Hailing from the British seaside town of Brighton, he began uploading videos of himself singing his favorite songs to YouTube in 2008 that turned him into a viral sensation. He posted a range of hits that showcased his soulful voice, including Taio Cruz’s "Dynamite," Rihanna’s "Only Girl" and Ne-Yo’s "Beautiful Monster" that racked up millions of views with the help of his loyal and ever-expanding "Mayniacs" fan community.

Both Ne-Yo and Taio were so impressed with Conor’s performance that, separately, they contacted Conor at home in the UK and offered to produce and sign him. That offer has come to fruition over the past few months as Conor has been in the studio working with Ne-Yo, as well as Pharrell Williams, Jermaine Dupri (Usher, Mariah Carey), Midi Mafia (50 Cent, Frank Ocean), Kevin Rudolf (Jay Sean, Lil’ Wayne), Sandy Vee (Rihanna, Pitbull), Crada (Drake, Kid Cudi), and songwriter Diane Warren.

The result of those superstar collaborations is his debut LP, entitled "Contrast," that will be released in North America this fall on Capitol Records/EMI. Following "Can't Say No," "Vegas Girl" is the second single to be taken from "Contrast" that properly positions Maynard as one of the most talented and promising new forces in pop to reckon with.
