[VIDEO] Meg Meyers Performs On Last Call with Carson Daly
Meg Myers' emerging brand of alternative pop stands out for beautifully capturing seemingly opposite emotions that will get under your skin in all the right ways. Her music is packed with feelings, observations and personal storytelling that are orchestrated so perfectly that they create one potent and raw blend of seriously powerful music. It's gut-wrenching, yet intensely beautiful. It's delicate, yet packed with true grit.
After I first introduced you to her incredible talent early last year, Meg has continued to work with producer Dr Rosen Rosen to further fine tune her sound and record more new music that she recently shared as a free EP, entitled "Daughter In The Choir," on her web site. Some of the stand out tracks on that EP include the haunting "Monster," "Adelaide" and "Tennessee" that features Rosen Rosen.
The savvy producers of Late Night with Carson Daly invited Meg to come on their show to introduce herself to their viewers. The result is an excellent little video vignette that aired on Monday night that gives you a really good feel for who she is as an artist. Meg says about her music, "It's like Nirvana meets Fiona Apple meets Sinead O'Conor." She also chats about growing up across the East Coast and that she picked up the guitar when she was thirteen years old to make music "to get through sh-t."
Meg also gives a shout out to Dr Rosen Rosen with whom she has forged a powerful musical partnership. After living in Los Angeles for five years she had no luck finding musicians to play with. Things changed when she met Dr Rosen Rosen with whom she had an immediate connection. "It's now finally coming together," she smiles.
