Watch Caan "Every Little Thing" New Video Premiere
Caan has been teasing fans with a few tracks, covers, remixes and demos, but he has now finally unveiled his official new single, titled "Every Little Thing," that was released to iTunes in the U.K. last month. It is an accomplished slice of brooding pop noir filled with throbbing synths and poignant lyricism about not giving up on the love you once believed in. "You keep on breaking me on, just to turn me on," Caan aches. "But I know the fire will still burn in the end, 'cause you're every little thing in this world I was fighting for."
The young Camden singer first rose to indie fame as part of Ou Est Le Swimming, the alt-pop trio that was struck with an unthinkable tragedy when singer Charles Haddon took his own life at a Belgium music festival in the summer of 2010. The best way for Caan to cope with the loss of his close friend and musical confidant was to move forward making music, and pour his heart and soul into his songwriting. "Every Little Thing" follows the release of his aptly-titled solo debut "Now Hear This My Friends" last October.
The video for "Every Little Thing" perfectly matches Caan's storytelling. Filmed from the female's vantage point, the mini music flick starts at a happy wedding day and chronicles how slowly but surely the relationship between the newlyweds falls apart. Their bond literally comes crashing down in the final scenes of the video that puts everything in perspective. Directed by Alex Warren & Toby Ross-Southall, produced by Joseph Hutchinson/Messrs Co.
