DWNTWN Covers Bruce Springsteen Classic "I'm On Fire" Exclusive Premiere

The Boss is boss, and covering one of his classic tunes sure is not an easy task. But Los Angeles synth-pop duo DWNTWN was up for the challenge and recorded a stripped down version of Springsteen's 1985 "I'm On Fire." This gentle and synthy revamp introduces the group's brand-new "See My Eyes" that is included on the forthcoming "Kitsune America" compilation that will be available stateside on May 7.

Jamie and Robert write me, "We had been wanting to cover 'I'm On Fire' for a long time, and it just so happened to be one of the few rainy days in LA when decided to record it. It only took us an hour to record the song because we wanted that raw sort of sound. It was so nice out that day we decided to just jump in the car and knock out a video for it too."

"This was a big step for us, it usually takes us a month to record a song and two months for a video," they smile. "[Sharing this cover] was perfect timing because Kitsune is coming out with an America Compilation which includes our song "See My Eyes" on May 7, and what could be more American than The Boss Man?"
