Young-professionals

The Young Professionals and Yuksek serve up the perfect tune to ease yourself slowly but surely into the weekend today. Check out Yuksek's brilliant reinterpretation of The Young Professionals' '70s-influenced disco stomper  "D.I.S.C.O." The savvy Paris DJ/producer gives the track the golden French touch with sparkly synth flourishes, a buzzing bassline and a velvety smooth groove that is mighty delicious. Download an MP3 of Yuksek's remix right here and get yourself amped up for the weekend with this potent slice of dancefloor glory.

Drawing comparisons to Scissor Sisters and MGMT, The Young Professionals, signed worldwide by Polydor France, are now arriving stateside with "D.I.S.C.O" that includes that irresistible chorus from Ottawan's original disco track of the same name. First released last year, the video for the song turned into a viral sensation on YouTube with its cross-dressing, retro dance moves, eye-popping disco-inspired duds and a nod to Robert Palmer. The track is the lead single off The Young Professionals’ forthcoming debut album "9:00 To 17:00, 17:00 To Whenever" that will be released in the U.S. on Casablanca Records this June.

To the uninitiated, The Young Professionals is the teaming of internationally-renowned singer/songwriter Ivri Lider and DJ prodigy Johnny Goldstein from Tel Aviv, Israel. Together, they craft an alternative blend of dance, pop and electronica that includes both acoustic percussion and guitars. If you're feeling "D.I.S.C.O," make sure to also check out the group's fantastic (and arcade-approved) cover of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games."
