ArjanWrites.com To Host ARTIST #TALK with HP Featuring V V Brown on Oct 25

I'm thrilled to announce that the next ArjanWrites.com ARTIST #TALK will be held on October 25 in New York City with very special guest V V Brown. Produced in very close collaboration with HP, ARTIST #TALK is a series of live interview events that will spotlight an irreverent artist who will talk about his or her music, inspiration and craft.

The intent is to show the story behind the music as opposed to highlighting the project of the moment. A small group of invitees are encouraged to tweet the experience and share some of their unique insights on their own social networks.

After a very successful ARTIST #TALK with Tinie Tempah last month, I will now be chatting with recording artist V V Brown in front of a live audience. And I could not be more excited. V V and I go back a little. She was the headliner of my first SUPERFRAICHE showcase in Los Angeles at Spaceland during GRAMMY Week in 2009. Since then, V V and I have stayed in touch and I'm excited to be chatting with her about her forthcoming new album "Lollipops & Politics."

The British singer/songwriter first captured the attention of music fans with her gold-certified single "Shark in the Water" and a North American tour with Maroon 5 last year. She began to sketch out ideas for her second album while touring behind her stylishly retro-sounding debut album, 2010’s "Travelling Like The Light."

The result is a major leap forward for V V, who "bent herself into experimental musical shape" after listening to the anthemic punk template of The Clash to the experimental electronica of The Knife. V V worked with writers Evan Bogart (Beyonce), Jean Baptiste (Black Eyed Peas), Mr. Griffiths (Jem) and writer/producers Bjorn Yttling (of feted Swedish indie rockers Peter Bjorn and John) and Ne-Yo collaborator Chuck Harmony on this record.

ALERT! I'm giving away 5 TICKETS to attend ArjanWrites.com's ARTIST #TALK on October 25. The event will be held at a legendary New York City candy store and you don't want to miss it. Tweet me using hashtag "ARTIST #TALK" and let me know why you'd like to attend. I will draw 5 random winners from all the tweets on Saturday at noon EDT. You must live in NYC or willing to travel there. The winner will get access to the event only (lollipops included!).
