Video: Arjan chats with Tinie Tempah

It's a big day for Tinie Tempah. After stirring up a storm of success overseas, the British MC is releasing his debut album "Disc-overy" in the U.S. today.

The record is a re-packaged version of his double-platinum U.K. album that comes with three new tracks, including "Till I'm Gone," his collaboration with Wiz Khalifa that was produced by Stargate (single review). The Norwegian duo also produced "Love Suicide," featuring special guest Esther Dean. The third new track, "So Addicted," was produced by Boi 1Da and features Bei Maejor.

I recently did a quick check in with Tinie to chat about his new record and what its release in the U.S. means to him. Stay tuned for more of our interview soon.

We also chatted about the importance of his U.K. debut single "Pass Out" and his very special relationship with Ellie Goulding who had a similar rise to fame in the U.K. and is now gaining steam in the U.S. (Grab Tinie's collaboration with Ellie Goulding "Wonderman" for free on iTunes.)

What I love about Tinie's sound is that he perfectly combines lyrical wit and a punchy delivery with a pop-savvy production. Tinie is a true product of his playlist generation, freely mashing styles into one potent brew of pop, hip hop, dance and electro. Tinie has put together a massive album that will appeal to the masses.
