Exclusive: Listen to Kay "M.A.J.O.R." (Tiesto Remix)

Kay esingle final 2

Rising Canadian pop star Kay has something big and important to celebrate this week. Today, she released her very first EP on iTunes in Canada that will finally introduce her sweet and crunchy pop goodness to more people. It's about time! And with gorgeous cover art like that it will be easy to fall head over heels in love with her. Kay's irresistible.

A little birdie told me that big things for Kay will be unleashed in the U.S. very soon as well so stay tuned to this blog for all the lastest greatest about Kay.

The "My Name Is Kay/M.A.J.O.R" EP includes the single edit of "My Name Is Kay" (written by Evan Bogart and Ryan Tedder of One Republic) plus the original version of "M.A.J.O.R" that was produced by our pal Dr Rosen Rosen. That track premiered right here on ArjanWrites.com back in November 2010.

The EP also features some excellent remixes including Frankmusik's Lost The Damn Gameboy Remix of "My Name Is Kay," plus remixes of "M.A.J.O.R" by Gunslinger, Junior Sanchez and Tiesto.

Check out Tiesto's remix of the song in the player below. The Dutch soundboard maestro turns Kay's poppin' original into a hard-pulsing dancefloor stomper with a trancy touch that hits nicely around the 3:35 minute mark after a frentic build. It's a nice way for Tiesto to return the favor after Kay contributed vocals to his "Work Hard, Play Hard" single last year. (Download EP)

Single Review: LMFAO Featuring Natalia Kills "Champagne Showers"

LMFAO is on fire. The group is flying up the charts everywhere with "Party Rock Anthem," grabbing the #1 spot on the pop charts from the U.K. to Australia. The song is currently a top 5 tune on iTunes in the U.S and shuffling upwards.

While "Party Rock Anthem" is still going strong, the totally fun L.A. duo of Redfoo (Stefan Gordy) and Skyblu (Skyler Gordy) is getting ready to make the party rock even harder with their new single "Champagne Showers" that features none other than Cherrytree Records label mate Natalia Kills. The track is taken from their forthcoming new LP "Sorry For Party Rocking" that will be released on June 21.

"Champagne Showers" is once again an unstoppable dance pop tune that includes LMFAO's universally-accepted trademark ingredients of party-starting lyrics, a relentless club groove and massive arena-sized chords that are instantly energizing. There's never a dull moment with LMFAO and "Champagne Showers" is solid proof of that.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the song's video in which Natalia Kills prominently appears together with Redfoo and Skyblu. Expect LMFAO and Natalia Kills to also team up and perform "Champagne Showers" together at Cherrytree London, a mighty pop alternative fest that will be held in London on June 13 and will also feature Far East Movement, Frankmusik and Colette Carr. (Head over to iTunes to pre-order LMFAO's "Champagne Showers.")

Nokia has teamed up with British girl pop trio Sugababes to premiere the group's much-anticipated comeback single "Freedom." The new song appears in a new viral video that the Finnish mobile phone maker created to promote the new Nokia Pink N8 phone and to keep up with their consumers in a creative and very clever new way.

"Freedom" introduces a grittier Sugababes sound that includes a little dubstep twist that may not be all that original but sure sounds fresh for the London trio. This new Sugababes track has been worth the wait. Listen to it after the break.

Video Premiere: Rizzle Kicks "Down With The Trumpets"

Rizzle-kicks-trumpets

The Rizzle Kicks goodness just keeps on coming. After serving up a groovy remix of Jessie J's "Price Tag," the hip poppin' Brighton duo of Sylvester and Rizzle released a brand-new video for "Down With The Trumpets" last Friday. The spunky track further defines the group's charismatic brand of DYI pop that is totally fun, utterly fresh and very now. I first alerted you about "Down With The Trumpets" back in January, but with a fresh-spanking new video these two are gearing up for the big time. It's just a matter of time. Watch it after the jump.

Listen to Madonna "Get Together" (Monsieur Adi 2011 Remix)

Don't think of Monsieur Adi as just another remixer. The Italian-born, Paris-based producer is a true pop composer extraordinaire who creates beautifully-crafted soundscapes that he infuses with a sense of style and melancholy that sets him apart from others.

Point in case is his new remix of Madonna's 2005 "Get Together" that the pop queen originally created with Stuart Price. Adi rips it apart, slows down the rhythm track and restores its pieces to create a cohesive and grand sonic experience with a classic beauty that is simply electrifying. It's another piece of Adi magic. What do you think of Adi's remix?
