Following her incredible cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in 2008, innovative French singer Emilie Simon now shows off her fine vocal chops on a mesmerizing cover of Bronski Beats' '80s synth-pop classic, "Smalltown Boy." The chanteuse offers the song her own unique touch by slowing down the tempo to give way for her lush delivery.
The track spotlights her very first English language album, titled "The Big Machine," that she recorded in New York together with an eclectic group of people, including Kelly Pratt and Jeremy Gara (Arcade Fire) as well as Jon Natchez (Beirut), Mark Plati (David Bowie, The Cure, Brazilian Girls) and acclaimed British fiction writer Graham Joyce.
