Exclusive: Listen to Duffy "My Boy"
When Duffy first hit the scene in 2008, her nostalgic and '60s throwback sound was often compared to Amy Winehouse and confused with Adele, her peer who debuted around the same time. To keep her music fresh and distinctly different on her new album, she partnered with legendary Songwriter Hall Of Fame inductee Albert Hammond, Stuart Price and none other than hip hop outfit The Roots to craft a new sound for her sophomore effort.
"My Boy" is a good example of Duffy's new direction. The song prominently spotlights Duffy's retro-styled vocals, but reveals a sassier, punchier sound with live percussion, a subtle disco pomp and confident lyrics that make her sound more contemporary than before. Also check out first single "Well, Well, Well" and "Lovestruck" that were all produced by Stuart Price.
