Chiddy Bang Release Official Promo Video for "Truth"

Are you ready for the hotness that is Chiddy Bang? I saw the group play at South by Southwest and they brought down the house with genre-bending hybrid of electro, alt-pop and hip hop. Such a blast of fresh energy. This year will be the year of Chiddy Bang. These guys are making fire!

They are a Philly based duo comprised of Chiddy (emcee) and Xaphoon Jones (DJ/producer) who combine elements of indie and electronica with some good 'ole fashioned "spitting." Chiddy grew up in the street of Neward, NJ raised by Nigerian immigrants in pursuit of the American dream. Chiddy made his folks proud when he earned a scholarship to the prestigious Northfield Mt. Herman High School whose alumni include the founder of Burger King to the CEO of Citibank.

Chiddy met up with Xaphoon Jones at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Xaphoon's production style stems from his wide array of musical tastes and a true respect for the art of sampling, a cornerstone ingredient of hip hop.

Together, the two have sampled and mashed up indie gems with classic hip hop and party-starting electro, which has garnered them respect among Williamsburg hipsters, East L.A. hip hop kings and college students around the country.

Chiddy Bang prove that hip hop is not dead. Instead it continues to morph once again into something new and exciting, showing that hip hop is the genre that is one step ahead of popular culture. Hip hop truly dares to step out of of the box and is driving innovation in popular music around the world.
