VV Brown is one of the fraichest new talents to look out for this summer. Back in May, I nominated VV for the MTV Logo ArjanWrites.com Award as one of the noteworthy international acts this year with a steady cross-over potential. She didn't end up taking the award (Patrick Wolf did), but the nomination helped her to start building some grassroots momentum in America.

Today, the singer released her brand-new single "Shark In The Water" in the U.K. The song packs a great, sunny chorus that is full of energy and positivity. The singer holds a steady middle between throwback R&B and contemporary pop, an unexplored muscial territory that VV likes to refer to as "do wop indie."
